A special feature at Lower Norton is the possibility of a day out visiting a local National Trust property traveling in a vintage Bentley. For anyone who does not wish to drive at all, we can meet you at the nearest mainline station (Totnes) and organize all your excursions.

If you would like to be really different and slip back in time, you could travel by mainline train to Paignton where you can catch the local steam train to Kingswear. We will meet you in the vintage Bentley, take you across the River Dart on the historic lower ferry and on through the lanes to Lower Norton where suitable refreshment will be waiting.

Lower Norton is in the heart of the lovely South Hams countryside which is a designated area of outstanding natural beauty. The area is a mecca for birdwatchers with Slapton Ley Nature Reserve fresh water lagoon just yards away from the sea at Start Bay and Bowcombe Creek a few minutes drive away.

At Lower Norton Buzzards frequently soaring overhead are a wonderful sight and cheeky swallows sometimes race in and out of the buildings playing tag! Only a short distance away are the many delights of Dartmoor, historic houses and stunning gardens. The pretty local towns of Kingsbridge (visit the museum), Totnes and Dartmouth are only a short drive away.

After a day out sight seeing or on the beach, relax on the terrace and watch the fish or wander around the grounds enjoying the tranquility and wonderful scenery before dinner.
